First part of Ancient China Exhibition opens at Móra Ferenc Museum Szeged

A significant Ancient China Exhibition opens this week at Móra Ferenc Museum Szeged. The first part of the exhibition will feature terracotta warriors and opens on Friday, May 26. A second exhibition space, with nearly 130 original, ancient Chinese artifacts from the Shanghai Museum, will open on the Night of Museums, June 24.

The terracotta warriors of the exhibition are made from the same clay as the terracotta army found at the tomb of Qin Shi Huang Di, the first emperor of China, and are life-like in size, shape, and details. One of the statues has been painted in its original colors by Edina Hamar, restorer at Móra Museum, to help visitors imagine how the terracotta army looked like more than 2000 years ago.

The Ancient China Exhibition in Szeged will be on display until January 7, 2024.

The terracotta warrior exhibition opens on Friday at 5 p.m. with a public opening ceremony.
