Locations and program of Szeged IGF 2023

At the 24th Szeged International Guitar Festival, the Ceremonial Hall at SZTE Rector's Building will host evening concerts starting from 7 p.m. on all three days of the event — Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The opening concert will be a Mediterranean guitar night by Stoyan Paskov from Spain and Francisco Luíz from Portugal.

Friday's concert will be an Italian night by Cristina Galietto and Davide Dipilato, while the gala concert closing the festival will be performed by the Kupinski Guitar Duo from Poland and Vladimir Dotsenko from Ukraine.

Masterclasses will be held at the SZTE Model (Ságvári) High and Primary School (Boldogasszony sgrt. 3-5.) on Friday and Saturday — June 9 and 10 — in the mornings between 9 a.m. and noon, and in the afternoons between 2 and 6 p.m.

Throughout the festival, a spot will be set up at Hági Udvar where participants will be able to contact the organizers.

Szeged IGF was founded in 1999 by guitarist-composer Dávid Pavlovits, associate professor at the University of Szeged Béla Bartók Faculty of Arts. The aim was to bring internationally acclaimed musicians to Szeged and create a festival where amateurs, professionals, and fans of guitar music can come together, enjoy the performances and learn from each other. The festival also serves as a networking opportunity and workshop for professionals - musicians, managers, festival promoters, heads of music institutes, producers, and music journalists.

Tickets for the 2023 Szeged IGF can be purchased in-person right before the concerts or online. Further info and the detailed program can be found on the Szeged IGF website.
