Night of Museums — Autumn Edition

Statues depicting Chinese terracotta warriors at Móra Ferenc Museum

The 2023 Autumn Night of Museums will be held at the Móra Ferenc Museum and its exhibition spaces in Szeged on Saturday, October 21.

The Ancient China exhibition at the Móra Museum and the accompanying China-themed exhibit at Fekete ház will be the central theme of this year's Autumn Night of Museums in Szeged. Visitors can take part in guided tours and learn, among others, about the special jade burial suit that was believed to make the deceased rulers of Ancient China indestructible.

Guided tours of the various exhibitions will be held several times during the evening. Visitors can also attend various presentations and performances. In addition to the presentation of Chinese musical instruments and costumes, it will be revealed how the terracotta warriors were colored, and what are the characteristics of Chinese gastronomy.

In the dome hall of the Móra Ferenc Museum, a Chinese-themed craft session will be held, and visitors can take part in a Chinese painting workshop at Fekete ház (Black House). In front of Vármúzeum (Castle Museum), a giant board game related to the history of Szeged will be set up.
