Móra Ferenc Museum celebrates 50,000th visitor to Munkácsy exhibition

The Móra Ferenc Museum in Szeged welcomed the 50,000th visitor to its Munkácsy exhibition this morning. During a public press event, museum director Ottó Fogas greeted Linda Dobóvári-Csorba, who attended the exhibition with her family.

Dobóvári-Csorba, an art teacher at Bethlen High School in Hódmezővásárhely, visited with her husband and two sons, taking advantage of the final days of the winter break.

The steady stream of visitors arriving at the museum throughout the morning underscored the exhibition's popularity. Fogas noted that the museum had previously hosted Munkácsy exhibitions in 2006 and 2012, both of which were well attended, but neither achieved such record-breaking visitor numbers. He added that the success of the Szeged exhibition is particularly significant given that another Munkácsy exhibition has been running at the Museum of Fine Arts in Budapest since late November.
