New artworks enrich the Munkácsy exhibition in Szeged
A total of 17 drawings have been added to the Munkácsy exhibition in Szeged, the Móra Ferenc Museum announced in a press release.
Since Wednesday, visitors can view 17 previously unseen drawings by Mihály Munkácsy at the Móra Ferenc Museum's current exhibition Munkácsy, the Master Painter. These rare works, never before displayed in any exhibition, include a captivating array of male and female figures, scenes from iconic paintings, and striking depictions such as Jesus Christ in Golgotha and Árpád, the leader of the Hungarian conquest in The Conquest.
According to the press material, the exhibition has already proven to be a resounding success, drawing large crowds to Szeged's Museum. "Following a summer of exceptional interest, attendance remained strong into the fall, with the museum celebrating its 30,000th visitor in mid-October. The exhibit also attracted significant attention during the Autumn Night of Museums, where audiences engaged with related lectures, interactive programs, and special events," reads the announcement.
In addition to the new artworks, the museum continues to offer complimentary guided tours in Hungarian every Saturday and Sunday.
