The 2024 Szeged International Airshow has been canceled, the organizers announced this morning.

Due to the extremely unfavorable weather forecast, the organizers have decided to cancel the Airshow scheduled for September 13-14 this weekend.

Cold front, rain, and high winds - that's what the weather promises for the weekend, making it impossible to hold Szeged's biggest air parade, SZIA organizers announced.

Viktor Knezevics, director of Szeged Transport Company, said, "We hoped until the last minute that the weather would be kind to us, but now, after looking at the forecasts and consulting with experts, we have to cancel the air attraction given the safety of the public and pilots".

The organisers have therefore decided to cancel the event for 2024 due to the uncertain weather in the coming weeks. "However, we are confident that SZIA will receive the take-off permit again next year and we will be able to make up for this year's canceled event," added Viktor Knezevics.

Those who have bought tickets for the 2024 event will be able to redeem their tickets. Information on the redemption process will be made available in the coming days on the event's social media platforms and on the Tixa ticket portal.
