Szeged SWIM and RUN race and mileage-collecting swim this Saturday

The 2024 Szeged SWIM & RUN returns on Saturday, August 24. This year, three events will be held simultaneously – the Szeged SWIM & RUN, the Senior Open Water Long Distance Swimming Competition, and the "Swim the Length of the Tisza" program. The three events will be held at almost the same time at the Szeged Olympic Center at Maty-ér.

The swim and swim&run races both support a good cause. According to the organizers, the participants not only support their health through exercise but also the Szeged Hospice Foundation and the Reménysugár (ENG: Ray of Hope) Foundation – working to cure children with cancer – as the proceeds from the entry fees will be donated to these two foundations.

The SWIM & RUN competition was open to online pre-registration, which has now closed. Entries on the spot will be limited. Entry conditions and other details can be found on the event's Facebook page.

The "Swim the Length of the Tisza" program was joined by Szeged Olympians – swimmer Anna Olasz, kayaker Anna Kárász, and weightlifter Péter Nagy. In the mileage-collecting swim, registrants can choose between 1, 2, and 3 km distances. The event aims to collect the total length of the Tisza River, 962 km.

Online registration is still open for the mileage-collecting swim, and it will be possible to register on the spot until 11 a.m. on the day of the event. More info in the Facebook event.
