British comedian Stephen Grant performs at Szeged's JATE Club on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

Budapest-based Hot Paprika Comedy, together with Stand-Up Szeged presents an English stand-up comedy night special with award-winning comedian Stephen Grant.

"This will be the first time that we can present a professional comedian (from the UK) to the Szeged audience. It's absolutely thrilling!" said Péter Takács, organizer and comedian of Stand-Up Szeged. "The host of the evening will be a returning champion, Hot Paprika Comedy's very own Tauseef Parvez, while Ed J W Butler and myself will be the warm-up acts before Stephen, who's going to treat us to a special gig of 40+ minutes," he added.

A repeat award winner of Best UK Compere, Stephen Grant is one of the hardest working comedy performers and writers in the UK. He is the host of the Krater Comedy Club at Komedia, which has won Best Comedy Venue in the South for an unprecedented amount of times and is a regular headliner at The Comedy Store in Leicester Square.

His speed and dynamism create a magical energy which has audiences rapt and hanging onto his every word. It is this that led Stephen to writing for Rob Beckett on Mock the Week and for writing for Russell Kane on Live at the Electric as well as for Lee Nelson's Well Good Show for Avalon TV and Seann Walsh for Channel 4's Stand Up For The Week.

Tickets can be bought online — early bird tickets are still available at the time of writing — or at the door before the show.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. As usual, seats are on a first come first serve basis. Find all the details, including ticket prices, in the comedy night's Facebook event.
