Magnolia trees blooming in front of Szeged City Hall

The iconic magnolia trees in front of the Szeged City Hall are blooming again.

With the arrival of the warm, spring-like weather, the first buds appeared on Szeged's iconic magnolia trees over the weekend. The two large trees have become standard selfie spots in spring, attracting hundreds of people each year to Széchenyi Square. While the two bigger trees are the most decorative, especially with the picturesque City Hall in the background, several young magnolia trees are blooming on the square.

Generally speaking, there is a one-week period that is really good for photography, as the buds pop quickly and the petals begin to brown within a few days after full bloom. The length of the blooming is depending on the weather, too.
