Szeged Design Days kicked off today

The Szeged Design Days take place between October 19 and 26, 2024, in several venues all over the city.

The 8-day event features exhibitions, lectures, workshops, and open studios in over 40 locations. Among the programs are an exhibition of the Art&Money Publicritic International Poster and GIF Biennial, a pop-up exhibition by Zita Attalai, designer of the Szeged Slipper 'Reloaded' collection, joined by master shoemaker Tibor Sallay, as well as pottery and basket weaving workshops.

The event, initiated and organized by the Design and Art Management students of the SZTE Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, aims to present the designers and creative professionals of the Southern Great Plain region.

Please note that the event's language is Hungarian. However, some of the programs — like workshops and exhibitions — can also be suitable for non-Hungarian speakers.

Art historian Dr. Anna Váraljai will open the event series and Zita Attalai's exhibition on Sunday, October 20, at 11:00 a.m. in the Kiss Kunszt Gallery.

For the full program, check Szeged Design Days on Facebook. Please note that some of the programs require registration, and workshops usually have a participation fee.
