Ferris wheel construction starts soon at Dóm Square

The first items of the Ferris wheel, one of the main attractions of the Szeged Christmas Market (Szegedi Karácsonyi Hetek), arrived at Dóm Square yesterday. Construction of the Ferris wheel begins after all the items of the structure arrive.

Although this year's Ferris wheel will look slightly different, it is 50 meters tall and can accommodate 180 people in 30 closed cabins, just like last year, according to the local news outlet szeged.hu. Attila Rácz, head of Szeged Market and Fair Operator Ltd., the organizer of the Christmas Market, shared the 2024 prices for the Ferris wheel: the adult ticket will cost 3000 HUF, while the child ticket will cost 2500 HUF. As usual, one trip will be three rounds.

The 2024 Szeged Christmas Fair starts on November 29 and lasts until December 24. The main location will be at Dóm Square, with two other sites - Dugonics Square and Klauzál Square. As in previous years, the market will feature handicraft and gift stalls, as well as a large selection of typical winter food and drinks, including the iconic mulled wine.
