Fool Moon Acappella Festival returns to Szeged

The Fool Moon Acappella Festival will be held between October 6-7, 2023 at the IH Event Center in Szeged.

In the last 18 years, the Fool Moon Acappella Festival featured sold-out concerts with the biggest names in international vocal music, such as the Swingles (UK), Vocal Sampling (Cuba), Stouxingers (Germany), Opus Jam (France), Vocal Six (Sweden) and countless other bands from around the world.

This year, Naturally 7, called "the best acappella band" by Quincy Jones, will be the international guest star of the festival on October 6, from 8 p.m. The American group, which also regularly tours with Michael Bublé, will give a concert in Hungary for the second time, but this will be the band's first performance outside of Budapest.

For the members of the Fool Moon band it has always been important to introduce newly formed ensembles to the audience but at the same time to present the best of Hungarian acappella life, hence the second day of the festival, October 7, will be dedicated to Hungarian acappella singers and groups.

On the Hungarian Acappella Day, Voice Drops from Budapest will give a free concert in the 150-person IH Café from 6 p.m., in which they will perform their latest project, born from the fusion of Hungarian folk songs and contemporary jazz. From 8 p.m., two well-known performers of the Hungarian beatbox scene will perform in the Great Hall of the IH Event Center. Szeged-born musician-producer 'FMaN' Tibor Attila Molnár, frontman of the Tha Shudras, will shine with his unique looper technique, while János Fekete 'Jammal' will start telling stories using and imitating the sounds of our lives.

After the beatbox stars, the host of the festival, Fool Moon, will take to the stage with their 'Vocal Recall' show, in which they revive their favorite soundtracks from their childhood with their typical sophisticated pop music arrangements, humorous transitions, and projections.
