1st Szeged Design Week starts today
Szeged hosts the Design Week for the first time between October 5 and 15 with architectural, gastronomy, fine arts, and art therapy programs, among others.
The city of Szeged applied for the opportunity as a partner city, a regional location of Budapest Design Week at the initiative of art historian Dr. Anna Váraljai, assistant professor of SZTE BTK, and design and art management MA students Kíra Kőrösi and Petra Nagy.
By joining the Budapest Design Week, the most popular and most visited program series of the creative profession — which has been running for the 20th year — Szeged positions itself on the national map of the creative profession.
Between October 5 and 15, Szeged's creative professionals await those interested with a diverse range of programs at the city's iconic and little-known locations, and even at places closed to visitors until now.
Over the 10-day-long event, those interested can, for example, take part in a contemporary architectural walk in the city center of Szeged, visit the Alkimista Culinary Workshop — featured in the Michelin Guide — on a workshop tour, or join a steampunk jewelry exhibition and workshop, among others.
Note that the language of the event is Hungarian!
