Saint Francis Day Charity Picnic at Mátyás Square Szeged

Saint Francis Day Charity Picnic at Mátyás Square Szeged will be held on Sunday, October 2. This is a community picnic organized each year by Szia Coffee and local volunteers to support the Franciscan Monastery's soup kitchen.

Approximately 20-25 local teams and families will be volunteering to cook - all of them will prepare something different. The entire income from the food sold will be donated to the soup kitchen.

Kids will run cookie and lemonade stalls - homemade cookie and cake donations are welcome and can be dropped off on Sunday at Szia Coffee, or during the event at the cookie stalls.

Nyugi Kert will participate with wine, while Emmarozs Bakery and Bistro brings artisan sourdough bread.

Programs:

Blood donation in the Monastery (room No. 10) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Registered blood donors will get a free doughnut and can win one of the five Szia Coffee gift cards worth 1000 HUF each.

Kids' corner from 3 p.m. with giant wooden toys and face painting.

At 4 p.m., wind students from the University of Szeged will open the food tasting with their performance and the Csergő Band will play from 5 p.m. onwards.

A cake, donated anonymously, will be up for auction at 4:30 p.m.
