Manthan-Tales of Gods: South Indian dance performance at IH Event Center

South Indian dance performance by Soumya Sharma and the Kala Sangam Dance Group.

Soumya Sharma is a renowned dancer from Karnataka, South India, currently studying at the Department of Ethnography and Cultural Anthropology of the University of Szeged with an Erasmus Mundus - Choreomundus 2021 scholarship. She is an outstanding performer and creator of individual dance performances, as well as traditional and contemporary dance dramas.

Sharma's masters were Guru Sri PSA Manu and Guru Smt. Sheela Chandrasekhar. She also leads her own group called Shreesaayujya, where she trains Bharatanatyam dancers on an artistic level.

The Kala Sangam Dance Group has been operating in Szeged since 2003. The leader of the dance group, Tímea Kiss, started Indian dance with Panni Somi and then continued her studies in India with teacher Anuradha Shinde and dance master Adyar K. Lakshman. Tímea and her students had many independent dance performances and took part in numerous festivals.
