Modern Art Orchestra plays Bartók at Szeged Lions Club charity concert

After 2.5 years, the Szeged First Lions Club is organizing a charity concert at the National Theater of Szeged again. Modern Art Orchestra will perform 15 magyar parasztdal (15 Hungarian Peasant Songs) by Béla Bartók. Guest stars of the evening will be Veronika Harcsa (vocals), László Gőz (bass trumpet), Mihály Dresch (fuhun) and Miklós Lukács (cimbalom).

The originally solo piano pieces were rewritten by the creative minds of the Modern Art Orchestra, Kristóf Bacsó, János Ávéd, Gábor Subicz, and Kornél Fekete-Kovács, during which care was taken to preserve the original form and vocals of the songs. Improvisations by MAO’s outstanding musicians build a bridge between the performance of the fifteen folk melodies.

- announced the Szeged First Lions Club on its website.

The charity concert supports four different foundations working with disabled children.

Start: Monday, March 28, 7 p.m.

Some tickets are still available online.
