Pumpkin Weekend at Szent István Square - Oct 29-30

The Pumpkin Weekend, a yearly autumn festival organized by Szeged Városkép és Piac, will be held on October 29-30. Creative pumpkin carving, interactive and stage programs, a craft market, a carousel, and giant building blocks await visitors on Szent István Square. The water tower will also be open for visitors over the weekend.

Detailed program:

Saturday, October 29:

9 a.m.: handicraft and local produce market opens

10 a.m.: Kövér Béla Puppet Theater presents: Roaming in the Land of Giants

10 a.m. - 6 p.m.: Pumpkin lantern carving, led by Zoltán Doktor, food sculptor, and Olympic and World Championship silver medalist master confectioner

6 p.m.: Announcement of results, award ceremony

Sunday, October 30:

9 a.m.: handicraft and local produce market opens

10 a.m.: Grimm-Busz Theater presents: Seven in one fell swoop, a fairy tale play

2 p.m.: Pasenkó the Clown

Accompanying programs on both days:

  • giant building blocks

  • pony riding

  • handicraft workshop

  • carousel

  • Exhibition of the Csemete Nature and Environmental Protection Association

The water tower on Szent István Square can be visited on both days from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at a reduced price of HUF 500.
