BYD dealership opens in Szeged
BYD is set to open its Szeged dealership at Algyői út 44, as reported by local media last week.
According to the automotive magazine Autószektor, BYD, currently constructing a car factory in Szeged, is expanding its sales and service network in Hungary with the addition of three new brand dealerships. Michael Shu, Managing Director of BYD Europe, recently signed an agreement in Budapest with three retail partners to establish these dealerships in Győr, Pécs, and Szeged.
The Szeged showroom will be part of a brownfield investment, strategically located near the highway exit in a building that previously served as a car showroom and later as a furniture and interior design store.
Duna Autó Zrt., responsible for opening the Szeged BYD showroom, stated: “The facility will not only be a car dealership but also a showroom for the future of mobility, and it will welcome its first visitors and car buyers in the spring of 2025.”
Meanwhile, production at BYD’s Szeged factory is expected to kick off in late 2025. The initial models to be assembled there will be the Dolphin and the Atto 3.
