28th SZTE Autumn Cultural Festival

The 28th Autumn Cultural Festival of the University of Szeged starts on Tuesday, October 1, 2024. The 7-week-long all-arts festival, organized by the Cultural Office of the SZTE Directorate of International and Public Relations, hosts 300 programs at 70 different locations this year.

The two-month event aims to allow the university's artistic groups and students with artistic ambitions to present their work to the university and the Szeged public alongside renowned performers and creative artists. Each year, the events are designed to draw as much as possible from a wide range of cultures and to offer programs for all ages and interests. In addition to the diversity of genres, another important aspect is the focus on quality, the transmission of values, and community building based on cultural experiences.

Some of the programs are free to visit, others require an entrance fee. The complete list of events – in Hungarian – can be downloaded here.

Note: The language of the festival is Hungarian. However, the 28th Autumn Cultural Festival offers programs that are not necessarily language-dependent, like concerts, exhibitions, dance programs, etc.

The official opening of the festival will take place on October 1, with a photo exhibition opening in the Rector's Building at 18:00. Programs in front of the building start at 17:30 with a folk dance performance. The Belmondo band plays Beatles from 19:00, while the iconic light painting will start at 19:30. The Docpiano Band closes the event with their concert starting at 20:15.
