SZTE received ACEEU accreditation as Engaged University

The University of Szeged is the first university in Hungary to have received ACEEU's "Engaged University" certificate.

The certificate on social commitment was awarded on September 19, 2024, at the ACEEU Europe-Africa Forum. With this, the university has achieved another significant achievement in its commitment and responsibility towards its immediate and wider environment, SZTE announced earlier this week.

As detailed in the press release, the University of Szeged was the first in Hungary to be assessed in the comprehensive accreditation process of the international organization Accreditation Committee for Entrepreneurial and Engaged Universities (ACEEU) and successfully obtained the "Engaged University" certification.

The ACEEU evaluates the quality and effectiveness of higher education institutions based on non-traditional criteria. These include factors such as the economic and social impact of their knowledge assets and the breadth and depth of their connections to the world beyond the university.

The five-year accreditation is a significant milestone for SZTE. The rigorous evaluation process examined various aspects of the university's operations, including its strategic vision, organizational culture or innovation, and the impact of its community outreach activities. This accreditation not only highlights the university's current achievements but also sets benchmarks for future endeavors, the press release concludes.
