World-renowned French band opens the Szegedi Szabadtéri concert series at Újszeged Stage

Nouvelle Vague, a world-renowned French band opens the Szegedi Szabadtéri concert series at the Újszeged Stage on June 19, 2024.

Nouvelle Vague, a band famous for combining bossa nova melodies and hard rock classics, will also perform on the smaller stage of the 2024 Szegedi Szabadtéri, announced the organizers.

The band was founded in 2003 by composer, music producer Marc Collin and the late record producer, guitarist, and songwriter Olivier Libaux, to create something completely unique by reinterpreting the iconic rock songs as well as post-punk and new wave classics of the seventies and eighties in a soulful bossa nova arrangement.

According to Marc Collin, one of the secrets of their overwhelming success is the French carelessness with which they shape the melodies they evoke. In addition, the discography of Nouvelle Vague is characterized by continuous renewal. From Depeche Mode to Blondie, from Duran Duran to Billy Idol to The Cure or Dead or Alive, they have already covered the greatest hits of many legendary artists.
