1st Stonewall Tattoo Convention in Hódmezővásárhely

The 1st Stonewall Tattoo Convention will take place on October 26-27, at the Fekete Sas Rendezvényház in Hódmezővásárhely.

Ninety tattoo artists will participate in the event, which is not only an exhibition but also a competition with 21 categories for artists to enter, Tamás ‘Tinti’ Jószai, the organizer of the event told Szegedify.

The participating tattoo artists come from all regions of Hungary, accompanied by a Polish and a Chinese artist.

Some of the exhibitors are specifically preparing to do "flashes," meaning they will do tattoos without an appointment. However, most tattoo artists will require an appointment if someone wants to get a tattoo at the Stonewall Tattoo Convention. Many are looking for models for the contest, so it is not too late to contact them, Tinti added.

The event consists of outdoor and indoor programs. The outdoor programs are free of charge.

In the area in front of the Fekete Sas Rendezvényház, the location of the Tattoo Convention, the Trial Bike Szeged team will give a trial bike demonstration several times during the weekend. Meanwhile, there will also be a live graffiti show on Saturday, where three very talented artists (Mone, Arnold Máté, and Ruthless Kid) will demonstrate their skills on mobile walls.

Old-timer cars will also be on display, and after dark the Fire Fantasy Szeged fire juggling group will heat up the atmosphere.

Meanwhile, indoor programs will be accessible with admission. Admission is not age restricted and wristbands can be purchased for cash on the spot.

Indoor programs include belly dancing, acrobatic pole dancing, and a ring demonstration by Magic Poledance.

On Saturday there will also be a Suspension (18+) and Play Piercing demonstration with renowned expert Gábor Zagyvai and his team. After the judging and awarding, Saturday evening will be closed by Atrox Trauma, an internationally known thrash metal band from Hódmezővásárhely.

On Sunday, the instrumental jazz band N.V.R. will perform and set the mood. The other categories of the competition will also be judged.

The event is suitable for non-Hungarian speakers too since it will be led by an emcee who will announce and explain everything to visitors and competitors in Hungarian and English, and most of the tattooists speak a foreign language.

Sas Kávéház will be open during the event. Here, a la carte meals are also available, so guests can have lunch or dinner while visiting the tattoo con. There will be a bar in the exhibition area.
