Continental Running Festival was held in Szeged again after three years

After a 3-year break, the Continental Running Festival was organized in Szeged again on September 10, 2023.

According to Continental Hungary's press release, more than 1,000 runners completed one of the distances and more than 1 million HUF was raised through the entry fees. Continental offered the amount raised to foundations dealing with the healing and rescue of children.

Participants could enter to run 2.2K, 5K, and 21K distances. The family-friendly event featured DJ of the year Lili Regán, and the sport aerobics World and European champion Attila Katus, motivating the participants with music and a joint warm-up.

One of the beneficiaries of the charity event is the Reménysugár Foundation, which has been helping seriously ill children since 1996. As Dr. Dénes Kovács, president of the board of trustees, said, 150-200 small children who have been attacked by cancer are being treated nationally with their help, of which 15-20 little heroes are being cured in Szeged.

The other half of the amount raised goes to the Szegedi Újszülött Életmentő Szolgálat Foundation (Szeged Newborn Lifesaving Service Foundation). For 30 years, the team of doctors, paramedics, and civilians has been saving newborns and premature babies in the four counties of South Hungary. Since their establishment, they have already saved the lives of 25,000 babies with their special ambulance.
