Exhibition on Screen: Tokyo Stories

The Exhibition on Screen series returns to Belvárosi Mozi with the episode titled Tokyo Stories. The documentary will be screened in English, with Hungarian subtitles on Sunday, October 22.

The important temporary exhibition of the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford gave us the idea to present the incredibly rich culture of 400 years of Tokyo in the episode "Tokyo Stories": from fine woodcuts by Hokusai and Hiroshige to pop art style posters, contemporary photography, manga, cinematography up to the works of art created on the street today - reads the film description.

Through the exhibition, the documentary transports us to Tokyo, where we can discover the vibrant art life of the city for ourselves. The attractively illustrated, richly detailed motion picture presents the metropolis that was constantly destroyed and rebuilt during its 400-year history, thus becoming one of the liveliest and most exciting cities on Earth.

Date: Sunday, October 22

Starting time: 4 p.m.
