22nd Szőreg Rose Festival
The Szőreg Rose Fest will take place for the 22nd time this year. During the 3-day celebration, concerts, various modern and classical dance performances, exhibitions, as well as folk music and dance await visitors.
Accompanying programs start on Friday, June 24, at 4:30 p.m., in Monti Sándor Park. Programs on Saturday, June 25, start at 10 a.m. and will be full of dance performances, ranging from classical to modern, and from local to international, as well as choir performances. In the local Szőreg Cultural Center, various rose-related exhibitions accompany Saturday's programs.
Some of the rose fields around Szőreg will be open for visitors during the Rose Fest on Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, a bus service will take visitors to the rose fields and back. The first bus leaves at 9:30 in the morning from Hősök tere and reaches the rose fields in approx. 15 minutes. The last bus to the fields leaves at 3:30 p.m.
From the rose fields, the first bus to Szőreg Hősök tere starts at 10 a.m., and the last one at 4 p.m.
One of the main attractions of the rose festival is the parade, including bycicles, old cars, tractors, and horse carriages wrapped in roses. The parade is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
