Szeged International Guitar Festival 2022
The 23rd Szeged International Guitar Festival takes place between November 17-20. As the oldest and also one of the most important guitar events in Hungary, the Szeged International Guitar Festival brings together excellent guitar artists and colorful programs from all over the world.
Szeged IGF embraces a wide variety of musical styles - classical, world, or popular music - also in combination with other art forms. The venues are concert halls, bars, and churches, with a live Internet broadcast for those who cannot attend in person. The festival also offers interactive guitar lessons for amateurs, students, and children.
Another feature of Szeged IGF is a public competition, held with young stars of the classical guitar, together with a showcase and master class for them. The festival also serves as a networking opportunity and workshop for professionals - musicians, managers, festival promoters, heads of music institutes, producers, and music journalists.
Since 2018, Szeged IGF is part of EuroStrings, the first European classical guitar festival collaboration, with the participation of 17 festivals from Croatia, Finland, the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Italy, the Netherlands, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Spain, Portugal, Estonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
