The Danish Collector: Delacroix to Gauguin screening at Belvárosi Mozi

The Danish Collector: Delacroix to Gauguin, a documentary by David Bickerstaff will be screened at Belvárosi Mozi on Sunday, November 20.

The documentary, part of the Exhibition on Screen series, takes the audience on a journey to discover some of the best examples of 19th-century French art ever collected. The Danish Collector describes the era when artists such as Monet, Degas, and Renoir were vilified, attacked, and penniless, and the emergence of a new generation of art collectors, fighting to collect every single Impressionist artwork.

The film focuses on the Danish businessman Wilhelm Hansen, who amassed a remarkable collection housed at his summer home, Ordrupgaard, on the outskirts of Copenhagen. Exhibition on Screen brings this extraordinary collection to the big screen in glorious high-definition.

Start time: 4 p.m. on Sunday, November 20
