Hungarian forint dropped to a historic low against major currencies in the interbank market on Monday, March 7.

After hitting record lows almost every day last week, the Hungarian currency dropped to another historic low, reaching 399.98 against the euro on Monday morning. As a result, banks in Hungary were charging over 400 HUF for one euro today.

At the same time, the forint reached 367.90 day’s high against the US dollar and 399.03 against the Swiss franc.

Markets and regional currencies right now are heavily affected by the Russian-Ukrainian war. The Hungarian forint, for instance, plunged almost 10% since the conflict started.
