2022 Kecskemét Spring Festival

The 37th Kecskemét Spring Festival, which will be held from March 11 to 30, 2022, offers more than forty programs in sixteen venues, organizers told MTI Hungarian News Agency.

Dóra Barta, managing director of the main organizer Hírös Agóra Cultural and Youth Center, said that the program series is again characterized by the richness and diversity of the genre.

Kecskemét Spring Festival will host several events, like the Bohém Ragtime & Jazz Festival and the regional round of the National Student Theater Meeting, amongst others.

Various art exhibitions await visitors, including paintings, local embroidery, traditional ceramics, and a Petőfi memorial exhibition.

Performances will include traditional ethnic music and dance, puppet theater, classical music, jazz, world music. With the concert entitled "Da pacem, domine", on March 26, three choirs will pay tribute to Zoltán Kodály and Béla Bartók, and at the same time raise funds to help refugees fleeing the war in Ukraine.

The 2022 Kecskemét Spring Festival will end on March 30 with a Carmina Burana performance of the Kecskemét Symphony Orchestra.

The Kecskemét Spring Festival has been held every year since 1986 with outstanding cultural programs organized by the city’s cultural institutions. Concerts, lectures, performances, family programs, an art fair, outdoor attractions, and exhibitions await those interested.
