Attila Menyhárt is Central European Chocolate Master
Hungarian pastry chef Attila Menyhárt won last night's Central European qualifier of World Chocolate Masters - the competition many call the World Chocolate Championship.
In addition to the Coupe du Monde de la Pâtisserie (World Pastry Cup) in Lyon, the World Chocolate Masters, held in the French capital, is the world’s most famous confectionery competition.
The qualifier was held in Germany, on February 9, after being postponed for almost 2 years due to the pandemic. The competition was 8,5 hours long and the participants had to complete 5 tasks. This year's theme was the divide between apocalyptic visions and a bright new optimism - to envision the future of indulgence.
Menyhárt, who was considered to have high chances of winning even before the competition, qualified for the grand final in Paris with this victory. According to plans, WCM grand final will be in autumn 2022.
Attila Menyhárt is pastry chef at Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest and founder of Meinhart Patissier.
