27th Budapest International Book Festival

The 2022 Budapest International Book Festival takes place between September 29 - October 2 at Millenáris Park. The festival, which is an important professional and cultural forum in the region and a noted event in the international book world, is now being held for the 27th time.

Budapest International Book Festival traditionally hosts the world's most prestigious writers and poets. The guest of honor at this year's festival is Nobel laureate Svetlana Alexievich, who will also receive the Budapest Grand Prize from the Mayor of Budapest.

Slovakia will also be a guest of honor at the festival. The Hungarian Publishers’ and Booksellers’ Association, in cooperation with Bázis (Hungarian Literary and Art Association in Slovakia), will present the best of literature from Slovakia both in Hungarian and in Slovak languages.

The European Debut Writers Festival, organized with the support of the European Creativity Program of the French Institute, will also take place during the Budapest International Book Festival.
