The University of Szeged (SZTE) announced the launch of a new R&D project supported by a 1.2 billion HUF grant on Monday, February 7.

The four-year research and development project - started on January 1, 2022 - gets a support of 1.2 billion forint grant from the Ministry of Innovation and Technology of Hungary.

Nine research groups of the Institutes of Chemistry and Physics of the University of Szeged are involved in the implementation of the research, the subject areas of which mainly cover materials science, nanotechnology, and photonics.

Basic and applied research is planned in the fields of environmental sensing, sensor technology, signal processing, remote sensing, laser technology, and photonics.

Among other things, SZTE's new R&D project aims to design new, complex precious metal and other nanohybrid-based structures that can contribute to the development of (electro)catalysts and the modernization of sensor technologies used in environmental protection. One part of the project aims to further develop an earlier solution that could recover oxygen in space.
