New skatepark ready to use in Szeged
The new skatepark handed over recently in Újszeged's Erzsébet Liget (Elisabeth Park) has a floor area of 650 square meters and consists of two parts: one has mostly street elements, while on the other side park elements are dominating.
The facility, built in place of the old skatepark, is free to use for everyday practice but at the same time also suitable for street, park, and all-terrain competitions.
The structure of the new skatepark was built using a 15-centimeter sand-gravel-crushed basalt stone layer and a 15-centimeter reinforced concrete layer.
The total cost of the project, 85 million HUF, was financed in part by the city of Szeged and in part by the Hungarian government.
This is the first skatepark built within the framework of Hungary's National Skatepark Program. According to plans, seven similar facilities will be built in the country soon.
