February 19-20 Winter farewell and handicraft market on Szent István Square

The organizer Szegedi Városkép és Piac invites everyone for a winter farewell on Szent István Square on February 19-20. The two-day celebrations will include a handicraft market accompanied by family- and kids' programs and music.


On Saturday, February 19:

Morning:

  • 9:00 handicraft market opens

  • 9:30 fanfare opens the winter farewell weekend

  • 10:00 Grimm-Busz Theater (for kids)

Afternoon:

  • 15:00 Drugovi Busó Group accompanied by Šokci dancers and musicians

  • 17:30 music parade from Dugonics Square to Szent István Square

  • 18:00 burning of the so-called kiszebáb (kisze puppet) - in this case a Winter Witch - on Szent István Square


On Sunday, February 20:

Morning:

  • 9:00 handicraft market opens

  • 10:00 Csiga Duó Band (for kids)

Afternoon:

  • 15:00 Pasenkó the clown (for kids)


On both days:

  • the Water Tower on Szent István Square (St. Stephen Sq.) will be open for visitors between 11:00 and 16:00. Entrance ticket: 300 HUF

  • giant building blocks, carousel, small railway, bouncy castle, and ponies for the kids

  • festival dishes: chimney cake, lángos, flatbread pies, and mulled wine

  • from 9 in the morning handicraft market with handmade lifestyle products and food items
