University of Szeged and Coca-Cola SZIN Festival present the 2025 Sounds of Szeged talent competition
The University of Szeged and the Coca-Cola SZIN Festival are once again teaming up to launch the Sounds of Szeged Talent Development Program in 2025.
As shared in a press release to Szegedify, this initiative offers amateur musicians connected to Szeged or the University of Szeged a chance to grow artistically and take the stage in front of a broader audience.
This year brings an exciting new twist: the most outstanding performers will be invited to join a five-city national tour, giving them the opportunity to showcase their music across Hungary.
Bands and solo artists can submit their applications by April 2, by filling out the form available on the official Sounds of Szeged website.
During the online pre-selection phase, audience votes and the organizers’ decisions will determine which acts move forward.
The semi-finals will take place at two iconic Szeged venues: the IH Event Center and the JATE Club.
The grand finale is set for June 7 at the IH Event Center, where finalists will perform live in front of a professional jury composed of well-known Hungarian musicians, managers, and event organizers.
In addition to the exposure and growth opportunities, prizes will be awarded to the top three acts, along with special awards. The first-place winner will be invited to join a mentorship program led by recognized music industry professionals and will receive the official Sounds of Szeged award, a custom domain name, and promotional merchandise.
They will also get to perform on the University of Szeged stage at the Coca-Cola SZIN Festival, serve as the opening act for a headliner at the university’s PontOtt Party, and enjoy additional concert opportunities. A professional photo shoot, music video production, and a band merch package are also included in the prize, along with other surprise rewards.
The second and third-place winners will also earn spots on the University of Szeged stage at the Coca-Cola SZIN Festival, receive a band merch package, and gain access to further performance opportunities and additional prizes.
Applications are open to all nationalities.
