Arturo Delmoni and Anikó Szokody concert in Szeged

Arturo Delmoni, American violinist and concertmaster of the New York City Ballet Orchestra will give a concert together with pianist Anikó Szokody at the Ferenc Fricsay Concert Hall in Szeged on April 11, 2024.

Arturo Delmoni is considered one of the most celebrated artists of his generation. He has appeared as a recitalist throughout the US, Europe, Japan, and Hong Kong. As a chamber musician, Delmoni has performed with illustrious colleagues including Yo-Yo Ma, Pinchas Zukerman, Elmar Oliveira, Nathaniel Rosen, Jon Kimura Parker, and Dudley Moore.

Delmoni has appeared with major orchestras across the US, including Dallas, St. Louis, Boston, Los Angeles, and with the NYCB Orchestra in New York. Yo-Yo Ma describes Delmoni as "an enormously gifted musician and an impeccable violinist.  His playing style is unique, and his gorgeous sound is reminiscent of that of great violinists from a bygone era."

Arturo Delmoni plays on a 1780 G. B. Guadagnini violin.

Pianist and teacher Anikó Szokody is an alumna of the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest. From 1997, she was a student of György Sebők at Indiana University in Bloomington. She received her Master of Music in Piano Performance degree in 2000. In 2021, she obtained a doctorate at the Academy of Music. As a concert artist, she performed outside Europe in China, Japan, Qatar, Argentina, and the United States.

The concert is part of the 19th University Spring program series of the University of Szeged, offering nearly 300 cultural and educational programs during 7 weeks.
