CE Glass inaugurated its new hall with breathtaking fly-through by world champion Péter Besenyei

Legendary Hungarian aerobatic world champion pilot Péter Besenyei flew through the semi-roofed hall connected to the new plant of the glass processing company CE Glass Industries near Szeged on August 2, 2023.

The 35,000-square-meter industrial park housing the glass company near Szatymaz — a village 12 kilometers northwest of Szeged — has been expanded with a new 8,400-square-meter hall area and an associated 7,400-square-meter semi-roof, which will serve as the home of CE Glass's logistics center.

Red Bull Air Race legend Péter Besenyei flew under the 250-meter-long and less than 50-meter-wide semi-roof with a speed of over 300 km/h, performing the breathtaking maneuver three times in front of CE Glass's employees, the invited guests, and the media.

Preparations for the dangerous fly-through took almost a year with the involvement of aviation and security specialists. Security personnel from the Szatymaz Airfield, firefighters, and paramedics helped secure the site during the air show.

Together with the new factory units handed over with the aerobatics performance, the largest glass processing company in Central Europe can now carry out its activities on approximately 50,000 square meters on the outskirts of Szeged.

Péter Besenyei, a world aerobatic champion, founder of the Red Bull Air Race, Hungarian national champion pilot, and flight instructor, is a regular guest of the Szeged International Airshows.

Besenyei started flying in a glider at the age of fifteen and flew for the first time with a motorized plane in 1979. He stood on the podium more than thirty times at World and European Championships, as well as World Cup races. After being a ten-time Hungarian national champion and 21 times the "Sportsman of the Year" in motor aviation, Besenyei decided to retire from racing after his 66th race and 10th season, at the end of the 2015 season. He has so far spent 7,000 hours in the air on various aircraft types.

CE Glass Industries, a regular participant at the University of Szeged Job Fairs, is one of the leading glass processing and wholesale companies in the Central European region. Its activities include the processing of glass intended for the construction industry, the production of insulating glass, as well as the wholesale of architectural glass and auxiliary materials.
