New parking zones introduced in Szeged

The City of Szeged introduced new parking zones on July 1, 2023.

A major change came into effect yesterday, extending the area of paid parking on the streets of Szeged. In addition to the green and yellow parking zones, two new areas, a blue and a purple parking zone, have been added.

In Szeged, the newly introduced blue area falls just outside of what we call Nagykörút (Grand Boulevard), starting from Bertalan Bridge and spanning the Római körút (Római Boulevard), Brüsszeli körút, Berlini körút, etc., up to Bécsi körút (see map below). In Újszeged, the blue area falls between Temesvári körút and the river, introducing paid parking on both sides of Erzsébet Liget.

Also, in Újszeged, the P+R parking at Torontál Square — which was completely free until July 1 — received the purple classification.
