SZTE Hungarian Studies 2023 Summer University in Szeged

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Szeged organizes its summer courses for the 23rd time this year — between July 16 and August 12.

Application for the 2023 Hungarian Studies Summer University of SZTE is open until May 15 for those who need a visa, and June 30 for those who do not need a visa to Hungary.

Participants can attend a fixed 4-week or 2-week course, but applications with custom dates are also accepted.

Throughout the course, participants will learn Hungarian as a foreign language at five different levels — beginner, lower intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate, and advanced — during three 90-minute classes daily, Monday to Friday.

Participants will also learn about Hungarian culture, attend field trips, and take part in various programs — for example film screenings — during the course.

Optional programs include guided trips to Budapest, and to Ópusztaszer Historical Memorial Park. The Szegedi Szabadtéri Játékok, Hungary's largest open-air theater festival, will take place between July 7 and August 20 at two locations, and feature theater plays, musicals, and concerts in various genres.

The course starts with an opening evening with dinner and folk dance and ends with a farewell party.
