TulipGarden Mórahalom opens for the 2023 season

TulipGarden Mórahalom, a pick-your-own flower farm 20 km from Szeged, opens its gates for the 2023 season on Friday, April 7.

"We are welcoming visitors with 120.000 tulips and 500 peonies this year, and of course, plenty of narcissus and hyacinths - Zoltán Major, co-owner of TulipGarden Mórahalom said at a press event held at the garden on Friday, March 31. “In our debut year, in 2021, we had 7000 visitors, while last year this number grew to 12.000. In 2023 we aim to welcome 20.000 visitors. We will plant 900 roses and some fruit trees this year, and we are planning to have strawberries and blueberries in the future."

Zoltán Major also explained that they plan to extend the visitor season in the garden and join Mórahalom's touristic offer in the long term. TulipGarden cooperates with many service providers in the area in a newly developed reward system. The new scheme allows visitors to collect reward "coins" that can be exchanged for a discount at any of the partnering service providers.

Every year, the garden supports a charity with 10% of the price of each flower sold. This way, in 2022 TulipGarden Mórahalom donated 1 million Forints to the pediatric clinic in Szeged. Dr. Zsanett Tajti, representing the foundation Kisgyerekek is lehetnek nagybetegek, selected to support in 2023, said that the received support will be used for the development of the pediatric intensive care unit, the purchase of modern equipment, and pediatric emergency education.

As the blooming is largely dependent on the weather, the staff posts regular updates about the flowers and the opening hours on Facebook.
