Szeged Autumn Jewish Cultural Festival 2022
In addition to classical and other music concerts and book presentations, an exhibition awaits those interested from the end of August to the middle of November at the Szeged Autumn Jewish Cultural Festival - the organizers informed MTI.
The events of the festival are grouped around the New Synagogue in Szeged, where a concert of the internationally successful trio of jazz pianist and composer Gábor Antal, and the singer and lyricist, Szandra Szőke, will take place on August 30.
The Sárik Péter Trio and Mariann Falusi, who joins the group as a singer, will also perform in Hungary's second largest synagogue. On September 6, they will present the latest element of their hit series, the Jazzkívánságműsor, which will feature exclusively Hungarian songs in a unique arrangement.
Recently, it has become a tradition for representatives of different churches to discuss important social issues in the Synagogue of Szeged. On September 11, the topic of addictions will be discussed.
A recurring guest of the festival is the Szeged Symphonic Orchestra, which will give a concert in the New Synagogue on September 13. Two days later, the audience can enjoy the unique soundscape of Maszkura and Tücsökraj.
On September 18, those interested can visit one of Szeged's most beautiful classicist monuments, the Old Synagogue designed by the Lipovszky brothers, Henrik and József, and the New Synagogue, designed by Lipót Baumhorn under the guidance of Rabbi Immánuel Löw.

Two days later, László Csanádi will give an organ concert, and on September 22, at the headquarters of the Szeged Jewish Community, guests can learn about the history of the Löw Library at the presentation of Vera Ábrahám's book, From Szeged to Jerusalem.
According to his education, Ármin Tardoss-Tauszig was a railway engineer, but he is mostly remembered for his graphic and sculptural works. As an active organizer of Szeged's artistic life, he maintained a close friendship with Gyula Juhász and supported Attila József. An exhibition about his life and works opens on October 6.
At the end of the month, Péter Fodor's book about the history of the Baron Miklós Jósika Jewish scout team, while on November 10, Judit Molnár and Kinga Frojimovics' book about the deportation of Jews from Szolnok will be presented at the headquarters of the community.
The series of concerts of the Szeged Autumn Jewish Cultural Festival closes with the organ concert of Xavér Varnus on November 6.
