Akira Kurosawa's digitally restored Ran screening at Belvárosi Mozi

This weekend, Akira Kurosawa's digitally restored Ran will be on the big screen at Belvárosi Mozi Szeged.

Ran - means chaos or turmoil - was inspired by Shakespeare’s King Lear and is set during the constant warfare of 16th century Japan. The movie was first released in 1985, got four Academy Award nominations, including directing and cinematography, and finally won the Oscar for best costume design.

Kurosawa's masterpiece will screen in its original language this Saturday and Sunday (April 9-10) at Belvárosi Mozi, starting both days from 3 p.m.
