In seven weeks, almost three hundred scientific, educational, cultural, sports and entertainment programs await those interested in the University Spring series of events in Szeged.

The events are open and mostly free of charge for everyone interested, the Public Relations Directorate of the University of Szeged (SZTE) informed MTI.

The start of the festival falls traditionally on Poetry Day, April 11. The festival’s returning and popular program, the Poem at noon series, will also start at this time. Those interested can listen to a poem every weekday after the bells at noon in Dugonics Square, at the Szent-Györgyi Albert statue.

The official opening of the program series will take place on the evening of April 11. From this time, an exhibition of the pictures of a former law student of the university, photographer Miklós Müller, will be on display in the atrium of the Rector's Building.

One of the highlights of the festival will be a commemoration day on Miklós Radnóti's birthday, May 5, when all the poet's poems will be read at various locations in the city from 1 p.m.
