Flee documentary charity screening at Belvárosi Mozi

In solidarity with the people currently having to flee the war in Ukraine, Mozinet and Belvárosi Mozi Szeged are organizing a charity screening on Thursday, March 24. The net income from the screening of the award-winning animated documentary, Flee, will be donated to the Ethnic Association of Szeged helping the refugees from Ukraine.

“Recounted mostly through animation, Amin opens up about his past for the first time of his journey as a child refugee from Afghanistan. He begins to look back over his life as he grapples with a painful secret he has to keep hidden for 20 years, one that threatens to derail the life he has built for himself and his soon-to-be husband.”

The animated documentary, directed by Jonas Poher Rasmussen and released in 2021has won multiple awards at film festivals, including Sundance and Cannes, and has three Academy Awards nominations.

Flee charity screening will be on March 24, 6 p.m., at Belvárosi Mozi.

Audio: Danish, Dari, Russian, Swedish (newsreel), French (newsreel), English (newsreel), with Hungarian subtitles.

Flee will also screen on the Oscar Day event of Belvárosi Mozi.
