Construction of the 2022 Szeged Christmas Market Ferris wheel starts at Dóm Square

The 2022 Szeged Christmas Market (Szegedi Karácsonyi Hetek) opens in the end of November. Construction of the Ferris wheel has already begun today after all the items of the structure arrived.

Up to last year, the Ferris wheel serving the Christmas Fair of Szeged was located at Széchényi Square. This year, it will be relocated to Dóm Square and will be larger than in previous years, with closed cabins, which is also a new feature. The new Ferris wheel will be 50 m tall and can accommodate 180 people in 30 closed cabins.

The 2022 Szeged Christmas Market starts on November 25 and lasts until December 24. The main location will be at Dóm Square, with two other sites - Dugonics Square and Klauzál Square. As in previous years, the market will feature handicraft and gift stalls, as well as a large selection of typical winter food and drinks, including the iconic mulled wine.
