Telenor Hungary will change its name in March. The new name of the mobile company owned by the Czech PPF investor group will be Yettel Hungary.

The name change affects PPF Telecom Group's three telecommunications companies operating under the name Telenor: in Hungary, Serbia, and Bulgaria.

The name change does not affect the contracts with Telenor Hungary and the availability of services in any way - Mohamed ElSayad, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer, told the press. He added that according to plans, new services also launch in March. Their goal is to provide even more customer-centric services by combining the usual service quality with the capabilities of a new brand.

As a leading telecommunications operator, PPF Telecom Group operates in five Central and South-Eastern European markets (Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Serbia, and Slovakia), providing mobile, fixed, data, and Internet television services.

It serves about 18.3 million customers with mobile services and employs 12,000 people in the region.

PPF Group acquired the mobile telecommunication subsidiaries of the Norwegian Telenor Group in Central and Eastern Europe in 2018.
