19th Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival - November 8-20

The 19th Verzió International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival will take place between November 8-20, 2022, both in select cinemas across Hungary, and online.

Verzió is a Budapest-based international film festival showcasing documentary films on human rights and social issues. With the discussions and other events accompanying the screenings, the festival provides a forum to discuss current social problems.

This year's topic is "Burning issues". There will be more than 70 documentaries at the 2022 Verzió Film Festival, most of which can be seen for the first time in Hungary. Featured works seek answers to the countless current and burning issues around the globe, from freedom of the press to women’s rights, as well as the everyday lives of those living in war and under oppression.

The documentaries of the 19th Verzió Film Festival will be screened between November 9-16 in cinemas in Budapest. Outside of Budapest, in partnership with Free Spaces, a selection of festival films will be screened in five Hungarian cities: Debrecen, Szombathely, Pécs, Szeged, and Kecskemét.

The festival's online film library, Verziótheque, will be open between November 14-20 for those who want to join the film festival online.

For more info about screening times and ticket prices, visit the festival's website here.
