Second period of JFF+ 2023 streaming until June 15

The second streaming period of the 2023 Japanese Film Festival JFF+ is on. All films featured in the second half of the festival will be available to watch online for free until June 15.

List of JFF+ Independent Cinema films available for online streaming until June 15:

  • On the Edge of Their Seats (2020, 75'): Coming-of-age drama about young people who cheer for their high school baseball team playing in a stadium. Director: Hideo Jōjō. Available for online streaming worldwide, except in Japan.

  • Shiver (2021, 89'): A music film about the astonishing performance of a world-famous taiko troupe. Directed by Toshiaki Toyoda. Available Worldwide, except in Japan, Austria, Switzerland, and Germany.

  • Drive into Night (2022, 125'): Humanistic drama questioning the meaning of happiness through the story of a man who caused an accident. Director: Dai Sakō. Streaming worldwide, except in Japan.

  • What Can You Do About It (2019, 119'): A documentary about the interactions between a film director and his uncle who has mild autism. Directed by Yoshifumi Tsubota. Available for online streaming worldwide, except in Japan.

  • In the Distance (2022, 78'): Comedy drama about the story of two women who live under one roof and the strange happenings around them. Directed by: Saki Cato. Available worldwide, except in Japan.

  • A Little Girl's Dream (2014, 86'): A documentary follows the life of a girl who is in elementary school and dreams of becoming a vet, and the 26 years that follow to make her dream come true. Director: Yoshiaki Tokita. Available worldwide, except in Japan.

The online film festival also features interview videos with directors and actors, and interview articles with managers of the mini-theaters, to bring viewers from all around the world closer to the current Japanese cinema culture.

Online streaming of the 2023 Japanese Film Festival+ is free of charge, and available worldwide, except in Japan and a few other countries. The festival films can be watched with English and/or Spanish and/or other subtitles, check individual films for details.
