Szeged Contemporary Ballet will be performing Carmina Burana at the Dubai Expo in March - reported the Hungarian news agency, MTI.

According to the announcement, the ballet was invited to the Dubai Expo on the occasion of the Day of Hungarian Culture.

One of the main objectives of the Hungarian Pavilion is to demonstrate the cultural diversity and uniqueness of the country, including the most significant members of Hungarian dance life.

Before the planned departure - in January - some dancers tested positive for coronavirus, hindering the original schedule. The performance was rescheduled to March 9 at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheater.

Tamás Juronics's choreography to the music of Carl Orff is one of the most successful productions of the Szeged Contemporary Ballet. Since its premiere in 2001, the piece has been continuously featured in the ballet’s repertoire.

Since its inception 34 years ago, the Szeged Contemporary Ballet has always considered the international presence to be a very important goal. It had 139 performances in 28 countries already, not only in Europe, but also in other continents.

During their tours, they often take part in festivals and events as Hungary's cultural diplomacy ambassadors, and their performances are always a great success.
