Szeged Wine Festival returns with 11-day program, Bridge Fair to close event

The Szeged Wine Festival and Day of Szeged celebration series will return from May 15 to 25, 2025, continuing the expanded 11-day format first introduced last year.

The festival, one of Hungary's largest outdoor wine events, will host approximately 160 winemakers from throughout the country. In addition to a variety of wines, visitors can expect craft beer, an extensive selection of street food vendors, traditional Hungarian cuisine, and a craft market that features handmade goods from regional artisans.

As in previous years, the festival will take place across several downtown locations, with Széchenyi Square serving as the central venue. Klauzál Square, Dugonics Square, and Dóm Square will also showcase culinary offerings during the event, with Dugonics and Dóm Squares hosting cultural programs and musical performances as well.

The celebration will conclude with the annual Bridge Fair on the weekend of May 24–25. A longstanding Szeged tradition, the fair brings hundreds of craftspeople to the Belvárosi Bridge and its surrounding area. The event draws thousands of visitors with its diverse selection of artisanal products and special atmosphere.

Held in conjunction with the Day of Szeged, the festival highlights the city’s cultural identity and community spirit, blending local traditions with one of the most popular wine showcases in the region. Tens of thousands of visitors attend each year to enjoy the open-air festivities, which include programs for all ages.

Our detailed guide for the 2025 Szeged Wine Festival will be published soon.
